Silicon is cost effective when compared CIGS and is moisture resistance. These integrated solar panels manufactured by USA Solar Ovonic does not require covers. This means great flexibility.

It is still very disappointing to know that the total electricity produced using solar power is meager 9.23% globally. Most the companies who are into manufacturing of solar panels have improved the technology in just one single year. Companies will have to work hard to sell the product to masses so that the share of producing electricity using solar energy can be increased significantly.

Silicon is not that easily available and sometimes even demand is more than the supply, today most store have only silicon solar cells as other technologies are still being developed. Recently, Japan and Europe have been complete examples where solar energy users have increased, though due to 2009 economic slowdown, there was some halt but now once again things are back on the track.

To be honest, the escalating oil crisis and tensions hadn't crossed my mind when it comes to solar energy promotion - but now you mention it, I'm all for more promotion everywhere.

Here in the UK we've won a bit of a court battle with the government over sunsidies - or at least postponed it, but here's to a full victory in February.

And here's to a greener world too!
